The controversial safety car rules look set to be amended for the final race of the season, allowing drivers to refuel at any point during a Safety Car period.

The Singapore Grand Prix reignited Safety Car rule controversy after the rules shook up the race order, allowing Fernando Alonso to take a race win, with Nico Rosberg coming second.

Next season, the Safety Car rules are expected to change and drivers will also need to stick to a minimum lap time as has been trialled during some free practice sessions this season. When the Safety Car is deployed, a yellow light will light up in the cockpit and drivers will have five seconds to acknowledge the light by pressing another button.By Forumula1.net on Friday, October 10, 2008
